Synopsis
I figured this project would be pretty easy to execute and to explain to users, but I found out how wrong I was. There was so much information to relay and finding a simple way to do that was harder than anticipated. I realize I didn't go into much detail with my booklet, because I wanted to keep things simple. Now looking at my final version, I realized that my booklet probably didn't need to be so big. This was a hard project because I have never done anything like this. I felt like I was in charge of a huge project and I had to know all the in's and out's of FAC. You would think it would be easy to design a system just to show where classrooms and major rooms are, but with FAC being so confusing I had to remember literally everything. I don't think that this was my strongest project because I don't think I fully understood the project myself. It was hard for me to visualize the building and how I was going to execute this project. It definitely taught me a lot about utilizing everything and all of my skills.
Critique and Progress
During my critique with Professor Fender, he wanted me to emphasize how important it was for me to show how to get to each room on each floor. What I decided to do was label each stair case (1,2,3, &4). In the beginning of my booklet I indicate which stair case leads to which rooms. Doing this will allow students and visitors to look at the main map key to figure out where they need to go and decide which stair case they need to use. The only difficulties I'm running into now are knowing how much to show on each map for the floors. I want to make it simple and easy to users to read, but there's a lot of information.
