Final Store // Synopsis

Finishing all of my pieces today, I'm very happy with how everything came out. The only thing I regret is not stitching my brochure. But I overall believe all of my pieces tie in quite well with each other. I believe I took my objective of my designs and transformed them into applicable work. Looking back, after designing my poster, it gave me some direction into where to take my overall look and feel. I like how my store seems very clean and modern yet fun and in style. My two favorite pieces are my poster and building sign. I found connected each piece to be the hardest when it came to keeping a consistent design. But ultimately I think I found a good solution.

---- Haus letter head and envelope

Class Critique

In our class critique, I received a lot of constructive feedback that helped me give a little bit more direction into finalizing my designs. The class liked the fun, handwritten logo I made in Illustrator, however I needed to work on giving it more of a curve to keep it more consistent. They also thought my letterhead and envelope were quite plain. So during the next class I wanted to add that same fun feel to each piece of work. I went online and found furniture to incorporate in each piece. I wanted to make sure to keep the same color palette with each piece and I think I successfully found furniture that matched what I want to say about my store. Going onto the brochure, I wanted to do something sleek but still matching my overall customized look.

Store//progress

Originally I was going to name my store InHouse designs, but I started leaning more towards incorporating the Bauhaus theme into my name so I decided to name it 'Haus'. I didn't want to take the same dramatic, box like type that Bauhaus usually uses. I wanted to create something soft with curves. I also wanted to only use a two color scheme, which I have decided to use black and dark red. I want to keep my store clean, modern and very classy.

I'm currently working out the final issues of my typeface. I'm liking how the 'aus' is flowing together, but I want to change the 'H' because I don't think it fits with the rest of the type.
