My main idea I'm going off of now is taking well known images and taking them apart. I want to look at main images and see how they're made. I want to take their shapes apart and piece them together to make something else. What I plan to do is to take the photograph apart on one side of a post card and assemble some sort of design that reflects my skills. Then on the other side, I want to put the actual image.

After talking with our small groups and professor Fender last class, I've been thinking of revamping my initial idea. What I would like to do is take a few pictures from my life that mean a lot to me. I would like to take slivers or pieces of these pictures and collage them or order them in the way I like to design. I want my pictures to evolve so by the final card you would be able to see and understand more of what the photos actually are.

Initial Ideas

When I first started thinking about this project and what I wanted to create, I looked at another area in the design world that I'm very interested in. Originally I was just a magazines major, but as I started getting into magazines, I started getting into their designs. That led me to become a double major in magazines and graphic design. A lot of my inspiration stems from layouts, grid systems and asymetrical designs. I want to incorporate some of the magazine world into my post card designs. I'm not quite sure how yet, but I have pulled a few images of layouts that inspire me.
